Zoetrope
This optical illusion – the illusion of movement – is created by the rapid motion of a sculpture of specific geometrical features which is spinning under a strobe light. This is a new type of animation device, called Bloom, which was invented by John Edmark in 2014.
Although it appears as if the cubes were tumbling and passing through one another, the surface of the spinning sculpture is absolutely solid and unchanging.
